Fingerpainting
Usui Yoshito, the creator of Crayon Shin-Chan, has died. There’s speculation, based on footage found on his camera and where his body was discovered, that he died taking a photo over the edge of a cliff. I honestly can’t believe that we’ve lost someone so talented and funny to something so ridiculous.

I’ve never read the English translations of his manga, or the dubbed anime, so I don’t know what most people here will think of his work, but the five years of my life it took to get good enough at Japanese to read him were worth it. When you’re sweating over translations of sixth century poetry and wondering why the hell you chose this stupid fucking degree, you’d better have the BEST DAMN DICK AND FART JOKES THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN to fall back on.

I’m taking my Sharpie to the bathroom. I may be some time.
